The amazing Era-7 modernized my concept art and created me this amazing new art! I love it and I am so very happy to have it. ^^

Standing over 9 feet tall - his name is Katama. His species is known as the Katoshi.

The Katoshi are warped cyborgs. They are one of the major threats humanity faces among the stars in ROD. They seek out the dead of other races, 'nekrotize' their corpses and convert them into the bio-masses for their bodies. The Katoshi are sentient beings, but long since deprived of their original forms and long since gone mad. They exist in a state of limbo, going from one frame to the next. Their 'thought-case' is installed in the chest. Said 'thought case' contains their neural cluster which is the closest thing they have to a brain. They are sentient and each one of them has it's own name and distinct personality, but mostly, they are more beast than being. They have no concept of morality or empathy.

They take what they need and destroy everything in their path. They're scavengers, they steal tech from other races to augment themselves and continue to perpetuate their development. They call this evolution. In reality, their race has become completely stagnant and they are little more than intergalactic vagabonds and bullies. Their need for new corpses usually outweighs their immediate availability. When this happens, more often than not, the Katoshi will find a unsuspecting alien world, lay siege to it and slaughter the entire population. They are all 'nekrotized' and are made into fresh meat for more bodies.

The Katoshi are recurring threats throughout ROD. At age 16, it was in battle against the Katoshi that Sophie McGillicuddy lost her original left arm. Though grievously injured, Sophie learned two very important lessons that day. When fighting the Katoshi a.) only explosives work b.) aim for the 'thought case' center chest.
